FAQ

Where is my money going?
You are directly supporting the non-profit Godot Foundation that takes care of the Godot Project in both matters of finance and administration.

Thanks to your contribution, we can hire people to work part-time or full-time on the project. These jobs include engine development as well as related tasks like code reviews, production management, community & marketing efforts, and more.

Additionally, we provide essential infrastructure like web hosting or test hardware.

Are one-time donations possible?
Yes! The fund accepts one-time donations. You can select one-time donations at the the top of this page, or send them as bank transfers or via PayPal ([email protected])
How can I cancel my recurring donations?
Simply log into your account and you will see a big red “Cancel Membership” button.

For legacy PayPal subscriptions, you have to cancel from their control panel. From the https://www.paypal.com/ page, you can go to: Settings > Automatic Payments > Manage Automatic Payments, and canceling the Godot Foundation one. Make sure to log in with the original PayPal email address that you used to sign up.

If you are having any issues, please send us an email to [email protected] with your Paypal email address and the information required based on your current membership level.
How is the monthly total calculated?
The amount you see at the top of this page is made up of:
• Recurring donations directly to the Development Fund
• Corporate sponsorships
• Remnant Patreon subscriptions

One-time donations are not included.

Please note that it is only an estimate to the best of our abilities, since there are currency conversions and fees involved.
Why did you retire the Patreon?
The original Patreon played a crucial role in keeping the project up and running, but we quickly outgrew it in terms of our community’s needs, additionally to losing a non-negligible percentage of the donations to increasing processing fees. Creating our own Development Fund gave us back the needed financial independence. Read more in our blog post about it. Thank you to everyone who made the transition possible.
How can I display my name in the credits?
If your membership tier includes a mention in the credits, you will be able to set name/link by yourself in your account settings. For these entries to then show up on the Development Fund page, make sure you unchecked the “I want to remain anonymous” checkbox.
